Policies

1. Open Access Policy

Open Access Policy Journal of the Indian Medical Association (JIMA) is an open access publication which means that all published manuscripts are freely available for unlimited access.

This journal does not charge APCs or submission charges & any other publication charges.

Open access publishing provides immediate, worldwide free access to all published manuscripts. Readers can view, download & print.

Once published, the article will be made free to read and reuse upon publication under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY-NC) license 4.0

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.


2. Peer Review Process

Each manuscript submitted to Journal of the Indian Medical Association if found to be suitable will be sent to at least 2 reviewers for peer reviewing.

"A Double Blinded Peer Review Process is strictly followed"

The reviewer comments shall be intimated to the corresponding authors email. The corresponding author should resubmit the manuscript with the corrections within 5 days. Each Manuscript shall be evaluated on the following basis: The originality of its contribution The soundness of its theory and methodology The coherence of its analysis Its ability to communicate to readers (Grammar & style)

3. Publication Frequency

Journal of the Indian Medical Association (JIMA) is an International, Peer reviewed, monthly journal. Every month an issue is released.

All correspondence is to the email provided by the corresponding author.

4. Archiving

Archiving This journal aims to take LOCKSS or Portico system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

5. Article Processing Charges

Journal of the Indian Medical Association (JIMA) does not charge APCs or submission charges & any other publication charges.

6. Plagiarism Note

Plagiarism Note Journal of the Indian Medical Association (JIMA) strictly wishes to communicate to all its readers, contributors, authors and co-authors and other concerned not to indulge in any form of plagiarism. The Editorial Board and the Review Committee has decided to take a Serious View in the above matter and shall resort to appropriate action as and when required.

JIMA is committed to publishing only original material, i.e., material that has neither been published elsewhere. Manuscripts that are found to have been plagiarized from a manuscript by other authors, whether published or unpublished, will incur plagiarism sanctions.

In cases where the violations of the above policies are found to be particularly egregious, the publisher reserves the right to impose additional sanctions beyond those described above. Plagiarized and fraudulent published data will lead to withdrawal and removal of the article.

7. Research Ethics Policy

Author is suppose to get the Echics Committee clearance from his/her institutiion before starting the orginal work. We ask for that Ethics Committee Clearance, when he/she submits the article.

Waiver Policy Not Applicable - There are no article submission charges or article reviewing charges at Journal of the Indian Medical Association (JIMA)

8. Policies on Conflict of Interest

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Journal of IMA believes that Transparency is vital in scientific research and publication. A conflict of interest may exist when an author, financial or grant supporter, stock owner, patent-licensing owner, editor, or the reviewer has a financial or personal interest that could affect his/her professional judgement or influence his/her actions.

All authors are required to disclose any conflict of interest during the submission of their manuscripts.

9. Human/Animal Rights

Journal of IMA discourages any use of infectious agents contrary to the welfare of mankind in any form. Members of the Journal Editorial Board evaluate any manuscript that may have such issues.

Any experiment or research conducted must comply with all current laws of the country. Authors describing experimental studies involving animals/human in their manuscripts must obtain approval from their respective Institutional Animal/Human Ethics Committee before manuscript submission and this document must be made available upon request

Authors describing research which involves biological resources or collection of biological samples in their manuscripts must obtain research permits from their respective local or state government department (such as Husbandry Department, Fishery Department, etc.). Permit number or approval reference number (if any) must be listed in the methods section of the manuscript.

Authors should include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent obtained for implementation with human subjects and the privacy right of human subjects must always be observed.
